Tableset LLC ("we", "our", "us") operates the Tableset mobile application. This privacy policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Information We Collect
- First name — Your first name from Apple Sign In, used as your display name within shared households. We do not collect or store your last name.
- Apple user identifier — An opaque, Apple-generated identifier used for authentication. This is not linkable to your real identity.
- Dietary preferences — Allergies, restrictions, health goals, and food preferences you enter. Shared with household members for meal planning safety.
- Usage data — AI feature usage counts, token usage, and request timestamps for quota management and service improvement.
Information We Do NOT Collect
- Email addresses — not requested from Apple Sign In, not sent to our servers, no column exists in our database
- Last names
- Profile photos — if you set an avatar photo it stays on your device only; we never upload or store photos on our servers
- Location data
- Device advertising identifiers (IDFA)
- Data from other apps on your device
- Crash logs or diagnostic data — we have no analytics or crash-reporting SDKs integrated
How We Use Your Information
- AI meal suggestions — Your dietary preferences and recent meal history are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic Claude) via our secure proxy server to generate personalized suggestions. Only first names and dietary data are included — no email or identifying information.
- AI image generation — Recipe descriptions are sent to Together.ai to generate meal images.
- Household sharing — Your display name, dietary preferences, and meal activity are visible to members of your household.
- Quota management — Usage data is tracked to enforce subscription tier limits.
AI Processing
Recipe content, dietary preferences, and first names are sent to third-party AI providers (Anthropic for text, Together.ai for images) through our proxy server. These providers process data according to their own privacy policies. We do not send email addresses or last names to AI providers. Per their current API terms, our AI providers do not use API data for model training.
Data Storage
- On your device — Recipes, meal plans, grocery lists, and preferences are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
- On our servers — Account information (first name, anonymous account identifier, subscription status), household data, shared meal plans, and usage logs are stored on our servers hosted with a US-based cloud hosting provider.
Data Retention
- Usage logs are retained for 90 days, then aggregated into daily summaries with individual records deleted.
- Shared plan activity is retained for 30 days.
- Account data is retained until you delete your account.
Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from the app (Profile > Delete Account). This permanently removes all server-side data associated with your account, including your display name, household memberships, shared plans, and usage history. Local data on your device (recipes, meal plans) is not affected.

Children's Privacy
Tableset is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Dependent profiles (for family members) are created and managed by the household owner.
Data Security
All communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS encryption. API keys are stored server-side and never transmitted to your device. Authentication tokens are stored securely in your device's Keychain on your device, and the server only stores a JWT signature key — not the token itself — so a server breach cannot expose your active session.
No Tracking or Advertising
Tableset does not track you across apps or websites. We do not display advertisements. We do not sell your data to third parties.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy in the app.
